MR can teach at UCI?
SA is either the next CEO, or gets fired by the next CEO for having messed up TMG.
Nah. Won't be MR. Can't have him sweating on camera. Can't have him showing up in his nappy sandals. Can't have him living in Irvine. Can't run the risk of him having a health issue or needing a lift out of his chair. Too many risks by going with him. Plus, he hasn't proven anything yet in his time at Intel so far and he wasn't a super-star at Qualcomm ... in fact, he got pushed to the side.
@ith1 - Ugh! You're right. Bad news for Intel on all fronts, then.
@mdy - Not sure if MR was a BK hire or actually a BoD hire. I don't think that was ever resolved conclusively.
I'm going to bet it's not MR or anyone internal. A majority of the BoD is new in the last few years - they are not enamored by 30-year lifers.
Everyone should also step back and remember that MR was a BK hire. What kind of legs do you think BK's strategies currently have with shareholders or the BoD?
Well, if MR became CEO, I would feel much better about this choice if he announced another round of much needed record layoffs.
