Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle UK Job Posts: Brexit Vaporware?

Oracle is still advertising job positions in the UK (Reading, London, etc), including for roles that are being laid off elsewhere.

Are these Oracle job postings for real? With Brexit and the exodus of companies from London to other European locations, is it even worth applying for anything in the UK? SCs, implementers, customer success managers, alliances and channels... doing what?

Your description sounds like the managers in the U.S. I suspect it is true of all Oracle management. I worked for some seriously sick and disturbed guys in the U.S. Sadistic, sociopathic, and completely clueless about doing anything that had anything to do with the job they were being paid to do. Spent all of their time making up lies about people, including their own employees. Got a thrill out of attacking people who didn't know what slime they were.

Oracle has serious, serious problems. It would be one thing if the management had even the slightest competence or sense of responsibility about doing their jobs. But these jack-asses don't care about anything but themselves and they will work the system to complete failure to hold onto their sorry-a-- jobs.

Once the management is this corrupt, it's over with. There will be no coming back for Oracle. No one working there cares about the continuation of the company, except to keep themselves employed through whatever means they can. Sick, sick place.

In SCC, the main Oracle problem is the local management. Bad managers with high voluntary turnover, manage to reach the highest Scc senior management roles just by playing well the blameshifter and distorting reality to fit their interests without any concern for the company. Oracle really should keep managers in Western Europe.

an SC in the SCC campus in Bucharest is between a minimum of 9600€ and a maximum of 12000€ per year. managers are around 20000€ per year, some slightly more, some slightly less.

life in Bucharest is not so expensive, so don't think this is a too low salary. you will not be rich, but for sure you will be able to make a decent living.

there are a lot of open job posting (real, not fake) if you want to apply, check on Glassdoor.

you need a basic IT skillset, no need for advanced experience, and you must be fluent in english + at least 1 more language between french, german, spanish, italian and a couple more eastern europe languages. a bachelor degree is highly appreciated, but not strictly needed.

it's a good opportunity to start a job in a big multinational company.

Really less than 20kUSD/year. That's peanuts, I am told Indian friends make 55-60 k USD at D level in a year

They're real, there's no way O will continue paying UK salaries when they can hire the low cost Romanian to do essentially the same thing for 80% less. Yes, it's that much of a difference, there's director level people in Bucharest making under $20KUSD.
