You have some serious anger issues 5war. I’m going to guess you blame this on your job? No one forces you to stay, so get over yourself. Just because someone doesn’t agree with or believe what you say doesn’t make them an a-- kisser or pro Wal Mart. Get a grip.

I haven't missed a day in almost 13 years. If that makes me an a-- kisser so be it. They should fire people who have excessive absences.

Hey 2oxp, you're just the type of ASSociate this company wants. A little azz kisser with no backbone. You probably run to management everytime anyone does anything to try and earn points with management. I would love to be there when they get rid of you. Get a life. Lol!

company policy switched (around the same time they switched to PTO) to a system in which calling in up to 3 days in a row counts as one absence. However calling off one day coming in one day then calling off another 1 day would be 2 absences. So without knowing the exact details and timings of each call off it would be hard to give you an answer on what company policy is. That being said you can look up and print out the exact specifics on the wire.

That’s why I said “practically” GENIUS. And calling off one time in 20 years wouldn’t make you lose all your paid time off, so tell the whole story....not true.

Well, "In my club," they wouldn't fire you for 4 absences in 6 months. Also, they don't cut full-timers hours past 37 1/2 so I don't think I'll be quitting for lack of hours or going to work at your c-appy club but good luck with all that butt kissing 😛

The infighting helps nobody. Like self-mutilation.

Crabs in a bucket.

We’re all losers for still riding this Titanic. It doesn’t matter if you have a private suite or you sleep on the deck. When the ship goes down, we’re all SOL !! smh

Not correct. 3 absences in 6 months qualify you for an optional documented discussion. 4th would be a first coaching as a previous poster outlined.

Um, that's not once a month genius and see how far your work ethic gets you at Sam's. 😊 Ex: I work with someone who called in one time in over twenty years. You know how he got rewarded? He pretty much lost all his personal and sick time when it switched over to PTO. That's a nice thank-you. Again YOU'RE NOT IMPRESSING ANYONE!

You are ridiculous. Good luck in the real work world because calling off once a month (practically) is not ok.

It has nothing to do with being an a-- kisser, it’s called have some work ethic.

To all you a$$ ki$$ers who haven't called off in 10 years, NOBODY CARES! YOU'RE NOT IMPRESSING ANYONE! Do you think that makes you more dedicated than anyone? NO! It makes you pathetic. Get a life. I'm sorry but 4 absences in 6 months IS NOT excessive. Its about borderline but not over the top. We're not doctors. We work at Sam's Club. Get over yourselves.

Depends on what state you are in. If the state is an "at will" employment state, then your employer does not have to have a reason to fire you. They don't have to give you a notice either.

Also depends if you have write ups for anything else. If you have already been written up 3 times for other things when you got to 4 absences you’d be terminated.

No kidding. If you have 4 days in 6 months you should be let go. If you aren’t consider yourself lucky and hope they drop off before someone notices.

I haven’t called in the past 10 years. Working when you seen 100% is part of life.

If you’re within 90 days yes, after you’ve been employed for over 90 days policy states after 4 unapproved absences you get a first written, 5 second written, 6 third written and 7 terminated.
