GOT terminated/downsized by AIG. I had a feeling something was going on at the gut level but never expected to get let go on a week i was on vacation. I was downsized by AIG back June 2009 BUT got rehired two months later. I wont ever go back there. The company does not care about the employee no matter how many times they say they do. Actions speak louder than words. The stopped giving us a pension and raises a few yrs back and NOW this. I am moving on from AIG permanently. They are using an AUS algorithm to underwrite their cases and regardless of any $200 million stock losses or whatever it is, they are moving away from needing the human being not just in underwriting but in all aspects. Other companies might be viable for the short term but i think A.I. --artificial intelligence algorithms is being allowed to take over OUR functions. Sooner rather than later we'll all be out of a job. I know they say the job market is hot and for now it is, but not liking the longer term future unless we as a society wake up to what's important.....US, not some algorithm or just simply cold hard corporate profits at any cost. THANKS for the dunk AIG..... MOVING on.

Which site location/division were you apart of? Claims, underwriting, operations? Any information about yourself or others is helpful. Thank you very much.
Got the boot yesterday. It is country wide.
Mostly older folks which I can't believe doesn't draw attention but this company must have some real clout with the government. Well I don't believe it is still too big to fail.
I feel bad for the ones left behind to suffer the constant daily worry about being next in this constant lay-off culture.
Go ahead and ask what location. No harm, no foul. The more info we share with each other the better.
Really! Don't ask what location he/she are at. Simply say that you're sorry that it happened, and we all wish you the best!
If some of you are panicked, as it appears - then why haven't you started to plan for what 's coming? Stop whinniung and get on with it. Yes, I'm with AIG as well. And fully expect it to come to an end in a few weeks. Plan people plan.
Which site location were you apart of?
Very little detail. Just the continued mantra about reducing expenses and eliminating redundant functions
I was RIF'd recently, what did Peter say? Curious to know how much detail he gave. Thanks.
Listen to Peter Zaffino’s webcast from earlier today. Pretty clearly stated the obvious regarding layoffs.
Yes, what is AUS? I am guessing Automatic/Algorithmic Underwriting System...?
Also: what Profit Center/LOB were you in?
What is "AUS"?
