Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Sam’s Club

If my best friend wanted to work at Sams Club I would tell not to even apply at all. Management doesn't even care about their employees, everybody is two faced when all they want to do is talk behind people's back like if we were back in high school. You are expected to do four to five things at one time but make sure your job is done. Thinking you've gotten your days off approved, but when you come back to work they aren't and you get written up for no call no show. Always trying to find any little thing to fire somebody when it goes back to management doesn't care about their employees. You have lazy people who don't do anything that get employee of the month when you have employees who work their asses off and don't even get a recognition for their hard work.

It's very much like all Sam's. I have to bug the heck out of management to approve my PTO that they said they would. You can't assume they'll do it. They never do. You have to hound them. There have been times when I end up in the office at the same time as my manager. I'll direct them towards the computer and have them approve it right then.

I would never recommend to anyone to start working at Sams. It’s a shame how bad this company has turned out. They do not care about anyone. They are promoting no emotion, robot people to management cause they’ll work cheap and without caring about a single associate. Sad, very very sad.

It doesn’t matter if you’re capped out. Your cap is another company’s starting pay.

Keep convincing yourself that this is as good as life gets. I guess greed trumps all logic?

If your capped out pay wise, it's not so easy to leave.

In this robust economy, if you’re still working at Sam’s, it’s because you have low self-esteem or you simply enjoy what amounts to self-torture of you mind body and soul.

This is like a dog returning to its own vomit, daily!

To the illiterate Please GO - It's 'your're' not 'your.' Maybe you're (<---) 'unhappy' because you can't get a job anywhere else.

Not op but I come on here to vent from time to time and yeah retail s---s but actually deep down inside I want to help fix things and try to help turn the store around but it's one big machine and wouldn't make a difference anyway

Things are bad because of poor associates like yourselves. Do us a huge favor and quit. Your unhappy, why are you still here? You come on this website and complain, grow up..

Totally agree!!! Employee of the month is such a joke. At my club they are usually 2 to 3 months behind selecting anyone. I would never recommend anyone go to work for Sams Club. It gets worse every year. Used to be a great company to work for. We can’t keep the new associates. Maybe they last a month. Very short handed on the front end.
