Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

When are we getting a new CEO?

With the sinking stock price and the rising competition, the BOD better get their act together and find a competent candidate soon. Every day that goes by without a CEO is hurting Intel.

MS made a good comeback after Satya. So whether Indian or not, the new CEO must take sensible decisions to boost investor and employee confidence. Oh but you trolls here won't understand that, since when do you even think?

Moore's law is dead. In a way, process is now a sitting duck. TSMC is running the same machine as Intel, more or less. Just run some split lots and get it done! What can be so hard?

@V0vND6o-2ucs sadly process leadership is lost and gone for good!

Agree layoffs are a certain as intel is way over headcount for what it needs

No CEO is better than a bad CEO. What Intel needs to do is quite simple: just re-capture the processing leadership and cutting/spin-off the fat. The acting CEO can do that. As we can see, all CEO choices are bad and the market has gotten used to an empty CEO slot already.

@V0vND6o-1fwl BoD really screwed up with BK letting him purge any talent, after all easy to look talented compared to him, now look where intel is!

No qualified inside, all the ex either too smart to come back or exposed.

External talent is really one in a billion and sadly the likes of a Gerstner like CEO is a unicorn, more likely to get a Carly

This does seem like a long time to go without a CEO. I'll wager there are three primary reasons, as others have individually opined:

1) Nobody decent from the outside wants it

2) Nobody on the inside is truly qualified

3) This is a make or break decision for Intel's long term survival and legacy

All three together push this well into the Fall.

NS ceo = joke of the century. No way. He's not mature enough to be a ceo.

A number of people have already declined to be considered for the job, notably interim Intel CEO Bob Swan, VMware, Inc. CEO Pat Gelsinger and former Intel CFO Stacy Smith.

Pretty amazing how long and slow the process is, looks like good candidates aren’t interested and all the ones interested are good, but whe have a visionary BoD so I know they will make the right decision, look how well the last few went!

When is Intel getting a new Chairman of the Board. The existing dinosaur who knows nothing about technology needs to go.

Intel doesn't make decisions based on short-term idiocy regarding its stock price. It makes decisions to get revenue and earnings over the long-term.

If the choice is between NS and MR I'd pick NS.

The reason it is taking so much time is that the better candidates don’t want it and the ones that want it are all terrible mistakes to be chosen, even Andy can’t find the bozo
