We are among top five companies with oldest employee base, with thirty-five year average.
It would be nice to get a better overview (how many in their twenties, thirties, etc.) instead of just an average, though. Still interesting piece of data.

The average tenure of a cisco employee is 10 years. HR will keep working that down.
In my team the managers pet TLs are famous for taking improntu sick leaves when tough triages and customer SR come.
Another type known informally as strategy TL avoid the tough areas and hide behind xls, ppt and process. They make 100s of syntax and whitespace comments on code reviews to show up +vely on dumb directors review dashboards. A spy told me but not confirmed myself that if you push a poor diff into prrq that needs multiple uploads to get approval , it all gets counted as new code/touched code lines not just the final diff
If the recent grads could carry their weight, which they can't, you could get rid of those over 45. The sad truth is the snowflakes can't handle the pressure and haven't been delivering the goods. But they are sure know how to order a great latte in the company cafe.
The new age may not begin until the guardians of the old stand down ...

I call BS on that survey. Cisco has been chopping the over 40 crowd hard for the past few years, and continues to do so. God help Cisco if they get the median age down to 30.....it will be the blind leading the blind. It will become a kindergarten app farm.
I wish cisco could bring the average age down to 30. hire lots of recent grads and get rid of the 45+ old bags. else we will be just the next HP with dead wood just collecting a paycheck.
Forgot to say, it's tech companies, not all of course.
