Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Retention bonus recipients

For those that received the tension offer, what are your thoughts? The letter was very vague to me. “Up to 35% of base pay” what does that even mean? There is nothing concrete in the offer letter and looks like it could be changed without notice. I’d like to hear how others who got the letter feel about it.

There's already verbiage on the letter in case you resign during the agreement period -- You forfeit the rest of the money.

Get an attorney to review thto document if you need to. That language, UP TO 35%, may be written that way in case you resign from molina during the agreement period.

"Up to 35%" means just that - you could get a bonus of up to 35% of your annual salary. So you make $100k? You COULD get up to $35k.

But keep reading - You get 30% of that 35% in 5 installments while they go through the search/sign period. So, that's $2100 extra a paycheck for 5 paychecks. IF, AND ONLY IF your position is transitioned to the outsourcer, you'll get the other $24.5k.

If you signed and returned it, the only thing they can really change is how much you get, because it says "up to". So they could screw us and say, "here's a total of 5% lol"

As for how I feel about the letter as a whole? meh. Signed and returned and I'll start looking for work. If I'm lucky, I'll find something right as I'm transitioned over to the outsourcing firm so I can give them the middle finger as I collect my bonus.
