Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Are we certain layoffs are done for now?

I know everybody is saying that if we were not affected by now, we are safe. I'm probably just being paranoid, but I can't stop thinking that was just a start and we'll see more before the end of the month.

How do we know it's really over? I could really use some reassurance, considering that stressing is not helping my health.

My team of 11 were IRIFed 9/6 from Webster and were told it would be an ongoing process aggressively through end of September and then more strategic smaller actions for rest of year.

They are definitely not over. Actively seek out another position, don't just get your resume together. If you play your cards right, you can get RIF'd, get some severance, and start right in with a new job.

Not even close. Stay paranoid and do like the first reply suggested: get your resume ready and be ready to bail when the time comes.... if not sooner.

Where are you hearing that? The company is just trying to wrap up the quarter. I am hearing there are more to come.

Instead of waiting for the other shoe to drop, why not be more proactive. Thank the Lord that you still have a job, but roll up your sleeves and take charge of your life. Start with your resume, find out where your contacts are and put out feelers, etc. Each day you do something in that direction will prepare you better. Nothing in this world is a given, except change is inevitable, and change can be a good thing.
