Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Television shortage

Any other club running out of televisions? We have holes all over the place. I know I read something awhile back that said they might do away with us, a heads up would be appreciated.

If your store is closing they keep everything else normal besides inventory. At our club, they just hired several people. They were all still in the middle of their CBL's. They also sent us stuff for the cash machine, but we never got the actual machine. They can even install these new registers and still close you down. I heard one of the places they closed, had just opened. Maybe been there a year at most. Heard they were always busy and sales were great. Still got shut down in January. They don't care..

If you are low on those items and that is a sign your club is closing why would they schedule a date for new registers?

For those clubs with low on hand tvs and limited Christmas items, what are your overall sales like? Do you have other Sam's club in the same city or town? Have you been hiring lately? If sales are bad and there is another club across town doing fine I might worry a bit.

They will stop sending liability items if you are closing (tvs, holiday, etc). So yes, your store is closing.

It's definitely something to be concerned about. Bit why would they close a store so close to the holidays?... I know the company s---s but geeze, have a little compassion. Might not be closing, bit those are some bad signs.

My store is running short on everything. TVs in particular, as you said. I've spread out all that I have like too little butter over too much bread, just to keep it from having so many holes.

We have plenty of TV’s coming in as well as Christmas decorations and trees. Maybe you’re just behind in trucks.

Hardline steel is very bare. Little to no Christmas, we were told it's normal not to have Christmas set until mid Sept. No Halloween costumes, very little candy. Something has to be going on.

No tv's, no pallet skirts, no holiday decor, no trees, ...hhhmmmm , could they be changing our whole philosophy ? I think something is happening right in front of us . We just need to put the puzzle together ..... let the game begin. I think we will become only fresh and grocery with on - line pick up and 2 hour delivery and pick up . The days of big box stores are over and Walmart finally knows that

Is it just a TV shortage or an all over the club shortage? Are you guys having fewer DC trucks show up at night? Pay attention to the whole club. Not just TV's
