Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

You can unionize individual teams

Former TL here who was forced to take anti union training there. Their biggest fear is that individual teams are viewed as separate entities and can unionize independently from the entire store. A whole body team of 5 people could unionize if 3 signed cards. This would then force leadership to deal with the union on all decisions regardless of the rest of the store wasn't. If you are on a bad team and want a union but don't think the entire store will join, go forward with it anyway.

I believe the only chance we have

and maintaining our jobs and being able to take our families safe with the proceeds of our work is through consolidating our right to exercise as a worker. It's us organizing as syndicated! The only way we stop with this total barbare and depersonification of subject is to be only exchange merchandise between working relationship of capital! We need to show the heads of this great organic WFM and Amazon that the times of glory have not ended that the TMs deserve all respect from the world and that we are transforming agents of our community in a positive way! All that is needed to combat this ridiculous greed profit by profit and less for the TM offered by Amazon must be fought! Amazon should have as premise to make its TM primes and not only a commercial Looby point or prime advertisement for consumers! Anyway, the only way we can stop them and the workers join us through the union ...

Why does anyone think unionizing is going to change anything? Unions don't do sh-- for workers except collect dues to donate to their own political causes. They don't care about anything else. Nothing changes being in a union. If anything it gets more divisive and adversarial. Whole Foods in now run by a guy that could care less about the workers. Things are just going to get worse, for sure, but unionizing isn't going to change anything.

Just the thought of certain teams unionizing in our store and the faces of leadership as they jumped off the stores roof kinda warms the heart...

Former tl here. I remember going to regional for class bout a topic n middle of the meet surprise!!! Now we have to talk bout unions but that was the main reason they took us there n not for the other class. They didnt disclose that we were taking union classes. Very shady wf!! Anyhow 4% cap is for admin group meaning marketing(they gone now), pbs, store artist(joined front end then it was gone), receivers n astl/stl. If ur TL is telling u s/he cant give u more than %4 increase pay call tipline or talk to stl.

Former STL who had to take multiple anti-Union classes. had a good view from the inside at what's happened in WF and you guys need to unionize. The company we knew and were proud to be a part of is gone. The core values have changed, and the company is not going to hold your best interests in mind as it chases profit. Good luck.

Employees would be fools not to do this we capped raises to a 4%, cut teams labor , forcing more part-time team members while getting rid of full-time team members, forcing a not realistic controllable out-of-stock percentages in stores that just don't have the backroom for proper delivery schedules, blindly allocate products to team that previous weeks were thrown away bus trying to put in place a shrink a palooza plan. Meanwhile increasing Regional positions that actually provide no support to stores daily operations or business
