This place is garbage. Lots of micro management on daily activities. Everyone is just trying to impress the person above them. No real strategy in place. Join a real tech company with real technology, not artificial buzz words that have no merit.

All O does is acquire other companies. There is no vision. It's just a machine, and how we're managed as employees reflects that. Plenty of jobs in O if you look at postings, but there are little to no opportunities to grow into those positions - especially if you're an acquired employee. Getting a severance package is like winning the lottery. What they really want is for us to quit; management by attrition. Still, so many hold on. They don't want to give O the satisfaction of quitting. Either way, O wins. You either quit, or you're miserable. Both are satisfactory outcomes to O. At least if we leave, we get to be happy, find a job where we're valued and appreciated. It doesn't matter if O wins, then.
MH has also gutted support. The many has no idea how to develop talent. All he knows how to do is cut and find the cheapest labor he can find, which only turns out to leave after they get experience so they can get paid what they are worth.
Oracle doesn't want to be a software company anymore - they want to be a cloud company instead. Where are they? #5? That's not very good.
I have worked in Oracle for 10+ years in the core technology and it is much better than where I work now, the only problem with Oracle is MH and his leadership style which screwed all the customer facing roles - Industry team, Product Marketing, Insight team and Enterprise Architecure team.
Oracle is c-ap. Oracle is #2 because of all of the acquisitions that have taken place. Nothing has been written at Oracle except the db. Oracle is a sh--ty tech company. Lots of do-nothing lazy-a-- managers kissing a-- and screwing up one project after another.
If you seriously think Oracle is a real tech company, you have never worked anywhere else. In my 30+ years working at almost a dozen companies in the bay area, I have never seen a bigger mess in development as there was at Oracle. Oracle is sh---city.
Get out and get a real job.
Oracle is the #2 software company in the world. How is that anything other than a defacto standard in software development practices. Oracle software engineering experience is the gold standard second only to knowing Microsoft technologies.
