How do we know more stores are not on the closing list - including ours - and will be announced in the following several days? Anybody else worried?
More closings coming according to Union employees. Also rumor in Union, all LP are going away, they should, never earned their keep.

That’s four store closing announcements in a one week period. So far I’ve hear about Downtown Seattle, Machesney Park, and now the two stores on Long Island.

They are closing stores with lease renewals coming up if they're unable to get a favorable renewal; so, if you are at a location with a lease up this year, time to get worried. In any event, it is my firm belief that this economic bubble is long in the tooth, the longest expansion yet and, since all cycles complete, a lease not being renewed will likely be the least of our worries. I have no faith in BBBY surviving the next downturn.
Hey, atleast you’ll get a severance package. I was so miserable there I tried to get fired but they refused, so I ended up quitting with no job lined up and then I learned that it was possible to work for similar yet better companies where you don’t get talked down to on a daily basis.
Yes, and our DM loves to use that weapon against us during walks. Anytime something isn’t right he makes sure to point out that the Company will be closing stores based on lease agreements and store conditions. He asks me how I’d feel having to layoff my team because I can’t manage my store correctly. Pretty messed up using emotional blackmail to motivate the team, but if that’s the only way you know how to motivate people what else can you say?
