Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What will the delay achieve?

Seriously??? Is it going to change the results, whatever they are? No. It's for a period that is done, they have the final results. No matter how bad they are, they are not going to become better in an hour or ten.

So why in the world do they keep pushing it, other than to just prolong our misery?

@V82A2Y9-ulo Ooooh, guess what? I found a whole quarter in one of our registers. We've struck gold! We're gonna save Sears! I'll be sure to send it to you, Eddie, next day air.

My theory.....and it's only a theory. I believe that SHLD was hoping to delay this release until close today in hopes that they would announce earnings about the same time Hurricane Florence was starting to wreak havoc on the Carolina coast. Maybe thinking the bad Q2 figures would be overshadowed by the news of what the hurricane was doing.

They need all stores to move the registers by noon and report how much loose change they find so they can determine cash on hand.

Probably struggling to complete a deal with the PBGC to allow SHLD to profit from the sale of Kenmore and SHIP. If they can bring that to the table, along with results, they might credibly have a chance to eke out a few more months.

Trying to find good news to go with the bad. Checking seat cushions for it.
