Clean house some more...tail is wagging the dog over at Baker...used to be a time where there was a mission statement and crew that did whatever it took to make it happen. The last CEO essentially crafted a fabulous plan to fill his pockets deeply and did so while the bulk of the company was asked to give back.
Technology, assets and staff to make it happen have been retained and available for years....why are they not delivering now you ask....Take a deep look at the culture and not just the propaganda that is pushed down. What is really happening in the labs, crews and break rooms. Ask the people who get it done....where is the bottle neck? Do we have the tools we need? Do we have the materials we need? Do we have the talent we need? Has a current time study been performed on what a quality repair really involves in terms of labor hours and materials. Is the points based system really helping us or is this data filtered and culled to show a favored position.
Get the red racks emptied, eliminate unnecessary redundant equipment so that crew bases HAVE to MAINTAIN equipment and not red rack it until the LOCAL MANAGER WANTS TO FIX...He DOES This so part of his compensation is increased (bonus) while we work with broken tools. This has been goin on for ever and even though we publicly claim it must stop there are not any protocols in place to make it happen. Starts at the top my friends, get the real hard a-- managers that know there subject matter and get them out to the bases and once and for all eliminate the sh-- from the field that keeps our logistics, supply chain and material planning requirements struggling.
