They do this every year.....problem is the new hires don't last long. Very few make it through the entire Holiday Season. Good publicity for the company though. Maybe they should offer full time to regular part time associates...oh, I forgot, if they do that they have to offer medical benefits.
One narrative has been created for the Media- hiring 80,0000!! Macy's must be on fire! Buy stock! The stocks must be worth more! The reality is they are still unloading experienced, loyal staff, stores unshoppable -maybe all these folks will be doing Online. Wonder if all 80,000 will actually be hired and for what jobs....hmmmm
