I agree. Upper management has not kept their skills up-to-date and impedes progress. I know because had to work with so many of them and left the company after just a year because of it. In my experience, very little of anything with true business value was accomplished by most VZ employees on a day-to-day basis. When people like me who were brought into the company for their SME tried to initiate change based on best practices from other industries, those proposed changes were met by upper management with HUGE resistance or just ignored. Upper mgmt was more interested in protecting their position and "power" than making the changes necessary in 2018 to drive the business forward. Plus most of incompetent upper management couldn't admit when they didn't really know/understand something. Unfortunate because most lower level employees WANTED change and were open to it. I finally gave up and left the company. I'm just not into the egotistical, political BS that VZ upper management thrived on, preferring instead to ensure I'm providing true business value and earning my paycheck.

Verizon badly needs to cut the Sr. Management dead wood. Tremendous opportunity to save money. Pull assigned vehicles from managers. Stop paying for their office commute everyday.
