Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Setbacks

We all have setbacks in life. We have to stay strong and go in headstrong with a good attitude. Tomorrow, when you go in to work, be thankful you have a job. It could be worse. But guess what? It's a setback Everybody and everything eventually has a setback. What determines the outcome of a setback is tenacity and approach. Nothing good ever comes of a tendency to give up or throw in the towel. Nothing good ever comes with a poor or negative attitude.

Guess what? Dealing with our setback is manageable. We owe $135 million. If we go in to this with a can-do attitude, we will have that paid off and then some.

  • Have a sunny disposition with every interaction. Remember the old saying first impressions are lasting ones. One or two people have a bad experience in our stores and the viciousness spreads like wildfire. Oftentimes those are exaggerations or lies. Regardless, give the public a reason to share positive things with other people. Smile, straighten your collar, shine your shoes, have a positive outlook.

  • Keep your stores neat, straighened and clean. I have been to some wonderful Kmart stores and wonderful Sears stores. I have also noticed that some other stores have been slacking. We have no room for slack. Get some positive energy going. Mopey dopeys don't get things accomplished. See the first point.

  • Go the extra mile. If you've been assigned tasks, do extra if time allows. Get an extra cart of receipts put away. Sweep the floors. Set an example to all the new seasonal hires.

  • Get the word out. Rally your community and get people in the doors. Get your managers to hold events. Pass out flyers. Show them the fabulous deals that they can obtain at our stores.

  • Cut waste. Cut waste in materials and time. Less waste equals lower expenses.

Do these things and we will forge ahead on to bigger and brighter things!

None of these actions will make any difference if you'd don't have customers coming to your store. Drawing customers in has been the responsibility of the management of SHC, and they've failed.

I’m not busting butt while management is eating donuts and drinking their coffee in the hub!!

They can spin it any way they want but the company is doomed

The downfall of Sears was totally because of store employees having wrinkled shirt collars.

No Sears owes over 5 BILLION, 135 million is just an interest payment and you can't even pay that. So you are telling us that the filing is coming tomorrow?

No, because we the people are not united! Look at half the negative sh-- you see on this page. Ppl are looking for answers and trying to sleep at night and what is being done they are being hammered. It’s not cool and I don’t condemn to this type of immature behavior. I highly doubt you parents are teaching your kids to bully or maybe you are.........

So the US us bankrupt cuz we r cruel? U need to look at the federal Reserve and how that was created in 1913 when most of Congress was on Xmas vacation. The federal Reserve is no more federal than federal express. No hate here just pure reality. It needs to he abolished and we need to go back to printing our own green backs and we need the gold standard back. U r using fiat currency ever since Nixon took us off the gold standard in 73. Wtfu!

How about they pay their employees more and not overwork them and also maybe modernize the stores so they don't look like they were made front he late 80s to early 90s. Course it won't happen now so yeah, honestly, f--- this company.

Ok, whatever happens with SHC is beyond the lower level employees, ASM's, and SM's control. In other words, it's way too late.
