As of 2:20pm EDT on Thursday, October 11, 2018, the SHLD stock is at $0.39 with a market cap of 42.53M and will now have to increase 156.41% just to get back to the NASDAQ $1 minimum price requirement!!

A reverse split does nothing for the market cap. You still have the same worthless stock just fewer shares of it....that’s all a revise split buys you. These are done to make the share price appear higher to lull in gullible investors. I don’t think anyone is fooled by Sears shenanigans these days
@gco - A reverse split of 3 to 1 would still be too close to a dollar. They would probably do at least a 6 to 1 or possibly a 10 to 1 so the share price would be well above a dollar.
To get it back to a dollar they would have to do a reverse stock split. 3 shares at 40 cents each would turn into 1 share at $1.20
