Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Kmart filed for bankruptcy before and it rebounded. If we file again, we will come back stronger than ever before.

Think of a bankruptcy as cleansing. It cleanses out the wastem It cleanses out bad processes. It cleanses out inefficency. Lots of companies have filed for bankruptcy. Look at Schwinn, Eddie Bauer, Hostess, Chrysler and Continental Airlines. Those companies have experienced a couple of bankruptcies and they are still around and are stronger for it. Who says we can't pull through this a second time? We can and we will! A year from now we will look back and see how far we've come. I know we will.

So bankruptcy is like, an enema?

The time to have filed a Chapter 11 re-org was maybe a year or even 2 years ago when we still had some assets that could have been used to re-boot the company. Instead, EL gambled that things would improve and he lost. Chapter 7 is going to cause pain for most of us. Good by to: jobs, health insurance, severance pay, etc etc. Also will be interesting to see what happens to the Sears pension plan. Hoffman Estates now will have an empty campus at Prairie Stone as well as questionable funding for the Sears Centre. Also, the Arboretum mall on Higgins & 59 sure to see some down turn of business....the villages of Hoffman Estates & South Barrington to also be affected.

It's over for Sears and Kmart. There is no rebound or comeback. The big lenders are out to get them so your Kmart and Sears are in trouble

"I see what you did there OP".....

Another instance of the OP replying to his own thread...patting themselves on the back by pretending to be someone else...

This Cheerleader is probably also waiting for Montgomery Wards and Woolworths to stage a comeback and reopen their brick and mortar stores......

Total loss of grasp of reality on their part.

Sad......so very sad.

The cheerleader will still be babbling on even after the lights go out and the doors are locked for good.....5 years from now, he/she will still be posting that Sears and K Mart are only waiting for the right moment to stage a comeback.

Meanwhile, life goes on and the babbling cheerleader will be left behind....absorbed in their own fantasy world.

It's very sad that Sears most likely will go out of business. A few months ago, my husband and I bought a mattress from our local Sears. It was a really nice store, very clean, well stocked and organized. Yet, not a lot of people there. The gentleman who assisted us was so nice, knowledgeable, and professional. I had my husband take his card to make sure that when we came back - after making our decision on which mattress to buy - we would only deal with him. I'm not even being sarcastic here. It's so sad.

I see what you did there OP.

A silent genius.

If you think about all these companies, the title of the thread, and the way it's written.

Amazing

You're only fooling yourself. Kmart/Sears come back to life. Are you kidding? Have you walked into a Sears store lately. I was there just the other day and I saw only two other women (another customer and a Sears employee) on the floor besides myself. I was thinking to myself, wow, there are no customers and then I recalled how it was back in the 80's when the store use to be packed. I'm sorry to say, but Kmart/Sears will not come back to life. People can shop online for anything these days.

Is this the Kmart/Kresge's cheerleader? Is there more than one? I can't tell because they usually manage to talk about good old Kresge whenever they decide to unleash their bathering upon us.

It only came back because Sears was dumb enough to take them on as a partner. Who is going to bail them out now?!

Are you going to continue to lie and mislead the good people that are still employed with this company? Are you REALLY going to do this? Before you continue to spew this putrid bile, which is even worse than the K Mart cheerleader garbage LARP you posted on here. NO ONE IS BUYING IT, honesty from the company or silence, please.

The people who post about comps have no idea what they’re talking about. Given the rate that stores are closing, the metric makes no sense. Only the people in finance really know what’s going on. The real numbers don’t get reported to the street.

Continental Airlines no longer exists. It merged with United in 2012. Nice try.

The company also said it saw positive comparable sales growth of 3 percent in July and 2.5 percent in August.

Apparently you haven’t seen the declining sale numbers, and Eddie will still be in control.
