The announcement was not clear and poorly timed. They should have waited until they were ready. Now we have to worry daily and walk on egg shells until we know if we as individuals are being put out on the streets.
HOLIDAYS are coming and I'm sure they wont be the happiest of times for a lot of us. Our place announced a Town Hall almost 2 weeks from the day Hackett announced this. So we sit and wait to get a little piece of the puzzle until the Town Hall. Its ridiculous.
What's worse is that if you had any money in Ford stock since Hackett got in, you've lost a lot $$$$$ already even before the cuts come.
I do believe Ford's vision of autonomy and their lack of decisiveness has cost them greatly.
For those of us who have worked there our entire lives it's going to be much harder to find a job with our age. These auto companies have basically lost their minds with the race for autonomous vehicles.
Their going to be focused on young technology fresh out of college students who will accept a smaller salary just to start their career. Talent they can mold into their vision not experienced professionals in the business.
