Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

If you are wondering why they are stalling

they are trying to prevent retribution and lame duck behaviors. if you do not get super eisp you will get regular eisp and off books 12/28. the mass exodus will be big. not many folks connecting the dots. VZ over the last 15 years used consumers to profit to build the network globally. now that it is complete it is easier to resell bandwidth to smaller cell providers and telcos implementing fixed wireless. all biz customers; more profit and a whole lot less overhead.

I've opted in after 14 years. I desperately hope they pick me. I get paid pretty well for my GEA role. What do you think my chances are guys?

The faq says most will be released on 12/28. Plus it makes better business sense to get the employee costs off the books before the end of the year.

What’s the criteria being used to release 12/28 as opposed to 3/22/19 or June 2019? How are you so sure most will be let go on 12/28?

I still think it is ridiculous to wait until 12/10 to find out if you've been accepted and to find out if your last day is 12/28/18, 3/22/19, or in June 2019.................wonder how many that accepted the buy out will be let go on 12/28/18 as opposed to March or June 2019.................
