Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Town Halls @ Mondelez

How do you like them?

For me, it's a major waste of time, resources and money.

It wouldn't surprise me! Layoffs are coming. We are being phased out unlike Keebler's completely exiting. Remember the soar app? Where reps had to grade the merchandisers. They're using that data to see who they're keeping and who's going. Watch and see

Whats odd to me is they just posted a bunch of order writer positions in the midwest but not 1 regular sales job, thinking that sales reps with cars might be on there way out after the holidays...

😂😂 Guess their boss knows everything! Like I've said before, I'll stick to the nasdaq and wall street journal reports. DSD won't be around much longer.

Would they really have these big meetings if it was just about splitting U.S. and Canada? I don't remember any meetings regarding Executive changes or closing all the warehouses down. I'm thinking it must be bigger news than that.

Right. Elimination of DSD will save the hundreds of millions needed and wanted to fund global expansion, e-commerce, marketing, ect. Wallstreets been eagerly waiting the news. Did you think it was strange after Dirks restructuring conference that our stock dropped just under 4% for awhile then recovered to end at just under 3%? That's because there was no mention of DSD exit and no mention of a game plan. Just that we're going to do things really good. Not my words, those of the business analyst's on Wallstreet. It's nothing new, corporate America has been outsourcing and downsizing for years. We're just playing catch up. We can't compete with pricing and we can't force people to buy oreo's.

I'll stick to what the Nasdaq article's are saying. Believe what you want.

Here's what I read.

"Mondelez is on track with its restructuring program, which aims to accelerate supply-chain cost savings and reduce overhead costs through layoffs, asset disposals and implementation of a zero-based budgeting system to offset commodity and currency driven inflation. These savings will not only expand margins but also fund growth initiatives like streamlining infrastructure and internal processes."

Not narrow minded. I'm a realist! U.S. has been losing money! We're not staying in DSD! The shareholders demand more money on their investments! Status quo will not work anymore. All signs point to a DSD exit. It may be in phases. Who knows. I know we're about to be out of Walmart very soon. I've been told that from upper management at Walmart. We're going warehouse in there very soon. Bank on it!

My Mama's basement?? Funny guy, not really.. Not spreading fake news. Just sharing an opinion of someone who is very close to the DSD business and worked on closing all of the DSD branches over the last few years.

I do have to laugh at you sales folks though. The company is announcing splitting the u.s. and canada businesses and somehow it becomes a DSD exit announcement. narrow minded

Your old boss 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Go back to your mama's basement! Stop spreading"Fake News". No one knows when DSD is ending. All I know is new business strategy causes layoffs 99.9% of the time. Who knows if it's a complete exit or we're phasing out. All I know is be prepared for changes coming the 1st of the year. November Announcements will be made guaranteed!

I do have an old boss who has been working on the DSD network strategy for the past few years. He told me a few weeks back that some things may change but a complete exit from DSD is not in works anytime soon.. and by anytime soon he meant years.

Yep new business structure announcement and everything is staying status quo?!?!?!?!?!

Keep dreaming!!

Changes are imminent. We've been structuring away from DSD since 2013 when we closed branches down. Laid off 1/3 of the sales force in 2015. Layoffs are coming in November. Wait and see.

That's the question isn't it. The new structure. If you have inside info on it we would like to know. From what I've seen they have been systematically working towards the DSD issue for quite awhile. From a business perspective, dsd is an expensive relic from the past. I don't see the growth potential here in the U.S. Sure, I've seen nutter butter, oreo, and chips ahoy cereal, mix in some yogurt toppings and have even seen oreo flavored e-cigs on the news which is something to be really proud of. But none of that has to do with DSD. We shall see.

They won't layoff before the Holidays, but I wouldn't be surprised some kind of announcement coming in November. 60 days notice required by law. Go live starts Jan 1st!

They wont lay anyone off, before the holidays, that would be the last big push.. No worries get as much OT as possible..

Amen to that! Push and push is all Mondelez does now a days! They will use you up till they don't need you anymore. I guarantee that there's going to be layoffs announced in November. I just can't figure if we will all be gone at once or layoffs in phases. Sales reps were cut 1/3 about 3 years ago. Was that phase one of more to follow?

I thought the Town Hall meeting is November 2nd, is it November 1st ? I wonder what the November 15th call is about. It is really terrible to live on edge not knowing if we will have layoffs ?? I cannot believe that we will not have layoffs . North America is not making the money that it should. We are getting pushed so hard. All we hear about is the budget. It does not matter if we do a good job in the stores. The job is not what it used to be as a sales rep..

What are these announcements on November 1st and 15th about? I read it in my email Glen Walter sent out. He said to not to worry and finish strong in Q4. Sounds like layoffs are imminent
