On a ch 11 distressing to a ch 7 the points are WORTHLESS as the bankruptcy judge needs to approve any and all payouts and shopping points become meaningless because they're not BACKED by anything
The points aren't worthless (yet) and the merchandise isn't worthless. Some customers, and employees who hadn't quit buying from Sears, have hundreds of dollars at stake. Less important than all the jobs at stake, of course, but it's a reasonable question. Nobody knows the answer yet, though.

Well don't they usually still accept returns and gift cards at the beginning so as to not create negative press? I hope they give all the points at once.
And once they file chapter 7 or 11... you will get your full vacation payout
