Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Can anything be done?

Is this it? Is Chapter 7 next? Is there ANYTHING that can be done so we don't end up like Toys R Us?

Agree with other dude. Remaining stores will only generate what they can for lenders until they file chapter 7 in January. It’s over folks.

Transitions CEO Responsibilities from Edward S. Lampert to Office of the CEO; Appoints Mohsin Y. Meghji as Chief Restructuring Officer and William L. Transier as New Independent Director.

Mohsin Y. Meghji was in the same position in the Toys R' Us liquidation.

They are no looking to "restructure" anything.

The fat lady sang folks.

Say goodnight....

Maybe if they sell just appliances and homegoods instead of trying to sell a bit of everything.

They're just trying to eek out one last Christmas season, to maximize the recovery for the creditors. Expect the bankruptcy proceedings to convert to Chapter 7 in early January.
