Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Why is Eddie stepping down a good thing?

He has so much of his own money tied into Sears, doesn't he have the best incentive to find a way to make things work?

I see everybody celebrating that he is no longer the CEO, but I honestly can't figure out what's there to celebrate. Especially since we have no idea who will take over.

My thought is.....anyone would be better than Eddie. He’s been a horrible leader and has made no attempt to save Sears (he was afraid to spend money on the stores and has squandered it on operating costs as the stores swirl the drain). He’s had nothing but losing strategies.

He’s had the job for 6 years and destroyed the company do you really think he can be effective at this point? past performance says “no”. No ceo has made the worst ceo of the year list as many times as Edie has. Sears had no way to remove him as he ruined the company. Finally he’s gone, this is cause for celebration!

Eddie is still the chairman. However Eddie stepping down is too late for that.

He's incompetent. He knows absolutely nothing about retail. He only knows how to do one thing: siphon assets. Eddie is so incompetent I would nominate my store manager for the job, and I don't exactly like him, but at least he knows something about retail and even be would be better than Eddie. Pretty much anybody's a better candidate for CEO than Eddie.
