Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

If investors don’t care then they are short-sighted - the new Google Pixel Slate will contain Intel’s processors

I understand that I am being off topic, given that this is a layoff sight, but this article caught my eye and I wanted to share the news. I definitely disagree with the author’s analysis that investors shouldn’t be too excited about this move, as Google is not that big of a player on the tablet market, and that we can’t expect significant orders.

Google has their sights set on on the hardware market, as they try to round up their services and take them closer to consumers, so I think they know what they’re doing. Maybe we won't see short-term benefits from this, but it is vital to continue the relationship with Google and continue satisfying their needs as suppliers, cause, in my opinion, it’s just a matter of time before some of their hardware products take off in the market.

Google as we know it has probably peaked. Privacy issues, growth of blockchain, and declining ad revenue, loosing the cloud battle all likely mean the future for Google is much dimmer than most expect. Think AOL twenty years ago.

Insightful

I believe GOOG does a lot right...including Driverless cars.

Plus unlike Intel it's not paranoid/phobic of diversity at the highest level.

Hope Intel can learn especially how to manage risk/failure which they have like in Broadband
