Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Seems like the new corporate organization foresee the move of support functions (help desk and customer admin) to “cheaper” locations. So not only FTE but also contractors working in those depts - 30% in CustAdmin - will be affected. We will know more when the plan will be laid out on Nov 6th. Between Nov 12th and 16th our colleagues will be called to 121 meetings when their fate will be announced. It seems that some of us will be needed for a longer period to ensure a smooth transition to our colleagues who will take over our accounts.

@VF4xpsV-1dub sure but note that i said " a few " meaning i feel for the rest..

However for most this will bring a positive change ..

A lot of s-xy job titles with s-xy salaries with no real added value were created throughout the years

Example Global heads of .... What exactly?

These individuals are the ones who deserve to be shown the door and trust me there are still a lot in the company ..

Frontline are indeed hardworking and should be the last to see their positions cut especially highly specialized teams but we all know that senior management are not aware of that or maybe have not been made aware... Choose your poison.

Well, not sure people got fired in Geneva are the ones who could have 2 hours of lunch!! People getting fired are from supports and admin! For sure we cannot stay away from the desk for hours! Regarding managers..... this is true (all over the world tbh)

Sad to see so many getting axed..

A few however “deserve” to go based on workload and attitude I would say.

The high salaries they received for years were never really justifiable sorry.

The half a day coffee breaks spent in the atrium as well as 2 hr lunch breaks are over!
