Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

How are we expected to continue?

We have lost a third of our team and from what I'm seeing we are expected to provide the same output as we did prior to layoffs.

How in the world do they expect us to achieve that and still actually go home occasionally? Who is the genius who thought of this?

The only thing I see happening is the rest of us quitting on our own very soon. Which, when I think about it, might have been the goal.

You start to cut corners is one way.

I know for a fact a few products going live soon have had reduced testing cycles.

Quality and reliability will slip.

I was made redundant in 2016, after nearly 18years service. In the the three years prior to that my immediate team was reduced by 60% with the work load not changing ( in fact increasing due to platform renewals and MifID 2)

Yes phrases like ‘more with less’ and ‘be more agile’ were used, but mainly by people who contributed very little and produced even less. Reuters used to be great place to work.

The company will be broken up and sold off. Just need minimum staff to keep the light on. Need ELT to tell you how excited they are.

"Do more with less!" and "Be MORE agile" will be the phrases that you will constantly be hearing in the meetings for the next year, just like last time.

Buzzword bingo at its finest!
