Layoffs started today!. They let go of Trainers in Marketing and Sales, do not know how many and if they received any type of severance. Really sad.

M&S training function is being absorbed into HR. No word on whether the people will be absorbed too. This is confirmed by HR at a meeting yesterday. Decision to be made by Jan 1 on new structure and who stays and who goes.
Rumor isn’t true. Group is being consolidated. Some will move to HR. Others may find positions in M&S. Some will likely be laid off.
I talked with one the M&S trainers today of which they said their group (7 people including manager) was being scrubbed. They were not told if they would still have jobs or not. Their tasks (ie training) will now fall onto HR. I also believe 3/6 of the individual contributor are part time.
@eob can we find any proof regarding this layoff claim?
I've checked with multiple people in M&S, none of which were able to substantiate this claim. Additionally, there was another rumor going around Monday October 15th about cuts in M&S which turned out to not be true. Of course, this could turn out to be true by the end of it all, there's been nothing confirmed yet.
