Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Ask your VP about the layoffs this year

Just because you don't know doesn't mean it isn't true. Grow some balls and ask your VP if they have had a meeting in September with Murthy where he detailed 25% cuts. If it isn't true they won't for you for asking. You are not at school anymore.this is your livelihood and families food on the table.

What @5qrs said is very real and relivant in his situation. Look what happen to that fellow worked for a competitor of Intels. When that fellow decided to do the questionable stock sale and tip to pals The Feds did send him and his pals to jail. A rancher once told me "The true does not change".

Since BK made a deal to avoid hanging out with Bernie M in Marion ill. Bk had to give up MR and his cronies. UK will revoke MR's citizenship. US will deported him and they can legally. Guess when he took that oath at the US citizenship ceramony. MR stated that he would follow the laws of the US. Since MR committed RICO. Then removal proceedings with a ICE judge can start. UK embassy in Orange County won't help him. MR will have a one-way ticket to India.

Unfortunately the people who leave on their own are the best and often the most critical people.

Although attrition rate of employees leaving on their own has been increasing for sure.

Even if Intel did nothing, and 100 employees resign each week that would be like 5000 layoff/year?

Probably a reduction of 10-15k to reduce costs, undo some BK initiatives and make space for new hires/RCG/H1s.

The WARN database tells you absolutely nothing. When companies layoff they always say you need to GTFO today but you are technically still on the payroll for the next two months. They give you a lump sum payment, after signing the NDA, on the day they kick you out. This allows companies to make the announcement for their mass layoff, usually around earnings, while keeping everything off the WARN database. If you don't believe me simply look up the old WARN database records, all online, and compare it to when the axe fell.

It's pretty much confirmed that the layoff coming will be huge as it should be. 2019 will be a super ugly year for INTC and management is doing everything they can to save the numbers. One quarter to one third of employees will be sacrified for Wall. St. Don't be stubborn and start pounding the pavement before the big event. Otherwise you will be fighting for a job against tens of thousands of other people.

you really cant tell one way or the other because intels ACTIONS since 2016 through last month are to fire, open reqs for the same skill sets and hire younger people to do the same exact thing. Fire 20k, 30k, 50k, what is the difference in rumors, no employee over 40 is safe there so any of us still need a plan B as intel doesnt care.

I'm really glad that Intel is no longer allowing lazy complacent employees to s--- salaries out of the company. This will mean higher salaries and higher stock prices for the good employees
