I know of 3 out of 16 (18%) that are taking it in my group. More may take it, but there are 3 that have said they've pressed the button.

11 out of 33 in my operations group. My guess is that the final numbers will be in the 20-25% range.

6k have clicked. Half have clicked. Could it be as simple as someone wants 12k so 6k is half? Or half of something else like retiree eligible.

@2epi, I’m afraid that your post is far too non-controversial, and I noticed that it does not name-call those entities that were behind.

What gives$)$6

“Also anyone know what the odds are for someone with 2 years of service?”

They likely won’t turn people away unless they have to. If 100% of people volunteer in the group the 2 year person is less likely to go. If 3 out of 20 people go I don’t see why they’d say no to one less headcount. They’d rather someone more expensive go surely.

In my operations group 11 of 13 are volunteering. And one more on the fence. Most are in the area of 20 years service.

The decision to let people go will come down to the services each group provides, the numbers opting in for that group, and not simply taking all employees over X years.

They will decide if the work can be transitioned to an external company or VDSI. And it probably can. Do they want to do that? We'll find out. They'll need to work out their transition plan very quickly and quickly is not something VZ does well.

if you have 2 yrs of service, I don't believe it's worth going unless you surely have something else lined up. The benefit just isn't that great.

"Also anyone know what the odds are for someone with 2 years of service?"

I'm guessing extremely low. They are looking for those several years with the company/high pay.

Wireline here and 20 people in my center supposedly put in for it. Hearing rumors that 2 or 3 people will get it but also hearing that if you put in for it then you’ll get it no matter what? What is everyone else hearing? Also anyone know what the odds are for someone with 2 years of service?

@1swb, indecision within the ranks of management, get outta here. What are you smoking? These are decisive individuals who make judgment calls all day. Give them some credit. I think you may have been misinformed amigo.

Peace.

I think the numbers are somewhat false. I've heard of plenty of people who have pressed the button but have stated that they are.oreoared to "un-press" it based on what we hear by 11/17.

The wood analogy is appropriate in that this is a controlled burn, until it's not.

by

Post ID: @grr+VHZ0X3Z

Dead wood burns, produces energy, and provides a needed benedit - warmth.

Live young sappy wood drips sap, doesn’t burn well, and is useless in construction and for making useful things.

Rich aged old hardened wood is preferable over sweating young saplings that can be bent over easily.
