Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Lost productivity because of the current environment

Good job UP senior executives! Productivity and desire have ground down to next to nothing. Those of us who aren’t sick every other day (most likely out on interviews) now spend 60-70% of the day trying to figure out when the layoffs are going to start. The other 30-40% are spent at lunch or in the bathroom. I’m guessing you should start seeing this hit project/task due dates in about 2-3 weeks....if we are still around by then.

Maybe if you are really good at hide and seek. They’ll see how awesome you are and keep you on. I personally think they need to get rid of 90% of management.

It isn’t just the bottom that they layoff. Sep 2017 the UP laid off several great workers at all levels. It was more who you knew and if you are a ‘yes’ person that “shows well”. Diverse groups make a better foundation but the result is conflict. Conflict makes for better thought out plans and better results. When egos get in the way, pushback can be misconstrued to be negative. A cancer that needs to go. Way to go UP. On a path to implode. The people promoted present well but have no idea what it takes to execute.

If you’re that worried about your job, you should probably just quit. You obviously know that you or your job bring no value that UP will let you go. Trust me, if UP valued you and the quality of work you do, they will find a place for you, I’ve seen it first hand each lay-off. They identify problems first and eliminate them, then they go up from there.

I've been going from bathroom to bathroom trying to avoid Lance's henchman. You can't catch me.
