Were Chuck Conoway and Mark Schwartz really that bad?They at least tried to compete with walmart by lowering prices.And we got a Christmas bonus with them in charge.Sure they raked the company over the coals,but were they as bad as Eddie?

Are you talking about Sears or Kmart? I was with Sears for 38years and never received a Christmas bonus. We did get a Christmas card a long time ago until that was stopped.
You are right about conway. Alot of excess during that time for many. I remember when some big wigs in AP, it was L P back then, drove Landrovers as company vehicles and you cant forget the 500,000 "loans" alot of these execs took. Never found out if all that cash was paid back. I think his name was Leo Anguiano who was running LP at the time. What a joke!
Chuck was more than incompetent...He was a liar and a thief. Kmart would not have gone thru the first bankruptcy if it wasn't for him. He stripped a lot of money from the company. Kmart paid for private chauffeurs for his children to go to school, along with a plethora of other over-the-top personal expenses.
Can't forget floyd hall, he wad instrumental in getting pantries in kmarts. A great idea back then I might add!
