Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

This forum is so useless

Checking back on the posts here from 2015 and 2017, pretty much nobody got anything right on this forum that wasn't already being communicated by upper management or widely known to anyone working at UPC. All there is on this forum is a bunch of "OMG I JUST HEARD A RUMOR THAT LANCE ANNOUNCED 75% LAYOFFS AND HE BECOMES GOVERNOR OF NEBRASKA FOR LIFE" and someone else responding "HOLY WOW WHATS THE SEVERANCE PACKAGE AND BUYOUTS GOING TO BE LIKE". Since the forum is completely anonymous, most of the posts are useless drive-by c-ap and spam that could be posted by anybody with any kind of agenda.

I'm not saying that UP is a great company, or that layoffs aren't going to happen soon, or that it's wrong to be concerned about your job. I'm saying some of y'all need to go outside and look at a tree or something.

Some people genuinely want to get good info out to the masses to help ease minds. Some are evil and sleep better at night thinking that they made someone worry for nothing. And some people just LOVE to be the first to type something on an anonymous forum regardless of whether there is any evidence at all to back it up. Who knows which person you get.

Right, and a stopped clock is right twice a day.

There are other posts on here, with at least as much detail, swearing up down and sideways that there were going to be management layoffs in 2016 and last Friday. Those didn't happen.

I'd suggest you go back and read the old posts again.

I've been on layoffs.com since 2015 and the board is 95% right. Yes, there will be trolls and folks who misrepresent things but in general you can find gems here.
