Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

New CEO plan of action

Best option for board:

  1. Ask Bob Swan to continue as CEO

  2. Ask Murthy to stay on as COO

  3. In 3 years, consider Murthy for CEO (assuming he stays that long and assuming he delivers)

Bob's ARs as permanent CEO:

  1. Rein in spending by cutting wasteful groups (sports, drones, half of Intel Labs, etc)

  2. Let go half of MCM (all of BK's cronies who are way out of their league for their roles)

  3. Let go half of appointed VPs (only retain ~100 VPs, let go of vanity VPs)

  4. Bring in a real Exec VP to run TMG (preferably from TSMC)

Michigan is a team with great promise that can attract top HS recruits, Intel is a dinosaur mired in systemic corruption resulting in a mass exodus of talent to be replaced by trash tier RCG.

Pat is smart to stay far away.

When the University of Michigan needed a new football coach, the Athletic Director didn’t say, “Let’s see who is available.” No, he said, “I want Jim Harbaugh.” He then workec to get Harbaugh to take the job.

The BOD should want Pat Gelsinger.

This is a good point. Surprised to see not many responses to this.

I can mostly support this, OP. Although I hope MR never ends up as CEO. The track record simply isn't there. Quite the opposite actually.
