Same in BXB. Walk into any building and it's a ghost town.
I once pulled into Richardson and my Uber driver asked was I in the wrong location, the place was like a ghost town. And yeah, no one really does much in SJC either
Yes. Some of my team members working from 11AM to 4PM in office. In addition, working from 9 PM to 1 AM (sometimes 7AM to 10AM) with team in India at home. Remember that Cisco has more than half of the employee are outside US.
I live about 20 min from the office. But in the morning and when I leave it takes me an hour with all the traffic. So, I show up late (after having all my morning calls) and leave early, to beat traffic.
Trust me, I put all my hours in and more.
Does anyone work in Cisco? The biggest fear is am I capable of work anywhere else if I leave...
Work hours behind from the moment you leave home. People live 2 hours away. It's just cheaper.
Like the cheap Cisco people do.
Wanna guess why they go home so early?
a lot of SJC buildings looked deserted last time i visited.
the cluster on zanker road had one cantina between three large buildings with rather limited hours for chow - and it too was fairly deserted.
I come in at 11:30 am and leave at 2:30 pm. Gotta beat the traffic jams. I join the conference calls from my mobile while on the road both ways.
Cisco is currently filled with politicians and snake oil salesman. Only takes about 30 minutes to create a new PowerPoint presentation, followed by a few hours of butt kissing with connected VPs
