Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How many employees UPRR has?

How many employees UPRR has as of 10/2018? Just trying to put the layoff in the perspective (500 folks) from the total headcount perspective. Disclaimer: I am not an employee. Good luck all.

500 may be a small insignificant amount of people when comparing it to the total number of employees that work for UP, but keep in mind this is just "the first wave". Quit acting as if it's no big deal. These jobs are how they take care of themselves and their families.

They laid off 50% of the design people who are the safety design and testing for the Positive Train Control. Sleep well tonight as the train loads of hazmat go by your house...

I think a lot of people believe that we have many more non-union people than we do. As of today the comparison is about 43,000 union to about 6,300 non-union.
