Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No respect for the individual

I’m a PTC for 11+ years. Been with the company over 25 years. I can see the writing the wall that our positions are going to be eliminated too. It’s so nice to see that the company is more willing to pay to outsource our jobs instead of caring for the current associates. Respect for the individual. HA

Sam Walton would not be happy at all the way things are happening. Workday is a nightmare. Loa process s---s. Takes longer to orientate new hires. I thought we were supposed to be important to the company. I can see now we are just another dollar sign. It’s a shame. I just wish they would let us know when it’s going to happen. I still feel so bad for the areas we lost before. Audits are definitely not being done correctly. The cash machine. Ha. We are really teaching our next genation how not to count money. Yeah it’s quicker but I still remember doing it all by hand years ago. Now Receiving and claims. Well I guess we will see how well this goes. Workday and now this right at the busiest time of the year. Nice.

And so it begins .... first clerk,claims,rec. Teamlead, now Ptc, next week membership Teamlead ,then sign person, then Jewelry Teamlead ..... it will happen ..... just a matter of when .

I’m right there with you the writing is definitely on the wall. I heard another warehouse just eliminated their HR inside the store. It’s been a great ride gonna miss my co workers.

Sorry to be a callous person on the outside looking in... but if you see the writing on the wall, why not be proactive in preparing for this change in advance? I see it coming as well, and am surprised that it has not happened yet, so why wait? What benefit do you see with sitting back and being a victim of circumstance? If you see it coming, make a choice to gain the skills (if you do not already have them) to still be a valuable asset to this company or the next?

I understand the pressure of waiting for the next announcement of downsizing, and it s---s. Make this an opportunity for yourself.
