Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Time to strike

Time for the union people and the leaders to strike. It is the only way to force out a terrible CEO. The common worker has no rights in a company, but unions do. They are only biding their time till they can work it out to do mass union layoffs.

Hahaha “deep cuts to the extra boards” get real. In my area we already don’t have enough crews to run the trains we have & another new hire class just started.

I’m guessing that the employees in the Harriman are wishing they had voted yes to Union when they had the chance, but you all drank the anti union koolaide instead. Sad

Honestly, the talent has either left or is in the process of leaving. UP is no longer the employer of choice.

Ps, the only ones that don’t have a lot of respect for the agreement folks are the operations folks. The rest of us think you all are pretty decent.

Lol management crying as usual. Ya cuts will come to us to. We're used to it. Walmart greeter. Lol get real you salty little child

Guess what man it's those above you who did this, not agreement. But you're too weak and cowardly to do anything so you attack those who believe are beneath you

Whatever man see you in the breadline

Agreement folks are fools to think your jobs aren't on the chopping blocks. Lance is just taking his time. They are already moving some agreement folks to non agreement. Now they are easy pickings for the next round of layoffs. He will chop the agreement folks down sooner rather than later.

Sound like we need to let the TE&Y see what yesterday was like and make some deep extra board cuts... with no severance... hope your brothers and sisters enjoy the CT boards..

I never understood how people claim that the government can stop a strike. What is Trump gonna do, chain you up and bring out whips?

Look into the history of labor strikes. It's not pretty and its not peaceful. But it is effective.

You all should read some "acts" about the railroad. Agreement employees cannot strike. And if we do.... el president will sign in and we will be back to work in 15 minutes. 99% of you just walk out!! I want to see it on the t.v. lol

It’s ok... you will all get caught up in this too... so don’t get ahead of it... just sit back and watch it play out... look at CSX... they reduced the train crew counts as well... you’ll be getting fired too... enjoy your future Walmart greeter jobs.

A mass walkout or strike would solve NOTHING WHATSOEVER! They have these people called borrow-outs! They can simply bring in others from different locations, until the walkouts could be replaced! The idea of a mass walkout by employees to signal frustrations within the company would be really fun to see! Unfortunately it probably wouldn't end well for anyone, unless the ultimate goal was to have Fritz removed! This is not the same company it used to be! The ratio for furloughs to retirement is incredibly high! Most people within the company simply dont make it to retirement now. The ratio is currently at 11 to 1! Eleven people furloughed for every 1 retirement! I would say the odds of retiring from this company minuscule at best! If you plan on no future, then apply here! If you hate life and employees in general, then apply for a management position! Hell, you could even be the CEO! Hey Fritz, are you reading this??

PLEASE STRIKE NOW, STRIKE, STRIKE, STRIKE!!!!!! STOP ALL MOVING TRAINS. OR DO IT THE SECOND Z-SEASON STARTS. These D-BAG CEO, VPs, AVPs, need to be axed not the average family man. How long of their UPS freight and UPS season going to hell will they take? They are the jerks saying they are excited about the future of the company, there won't be a company for long, but long enough for their stock price to jump up before they jump ship. They only have the Courage to Care (about stock price). These suits needs to see they are the next CSX train wreck, if they are fired before their golden retirement hits they cannot keep their mansions. They don't care the average family man cannot afford a newer car (mine is 10 years old), and cannot afford Amazon Holiday or Christmas gifts, UPS feeds Amazon partners, and massive shipments. 600 people cannot afford these things now, the two biggest customer segments getting mud on them. I am sure they will go to a stable BNSF over this clown show. FIRE FRITZ, FIRE FERGUSON, FIRE LISCHER, FIRE ROCKER, FIRE DENNISON, FIRE MOORE, FIRE ROCK, FIRE THEM ALL.

Even if we were to strike, Trump would order us back to work in literally 15 minutes from the start of the strike.

It's one company, execs make the decisions, non agreement people have little power. Agreement folks hold some power. When neither do a thing we will all be gone. So it's sit back you may or may not keep your job or watch your back till Lance is done chopping. Why let one man hold the power when the power of many is what is true power.

Solidarity starts when those who are affected act. I didn't see y'all walkout when agreement folks were getting shafted.

Y'all walkout of your buildings, I'll make the picket line at my point.

Please, for the betterment of the company and your fellow colleagues, strike! Show this country what these people are doing and let them know we will not stand for it.

Strike now or forever hold your peace, a year from now 2 years from now when it's a shell of a company that we used to know. It's sad that it's come to this. But I agree unions are the only ones that can effect change us non agreement folks will be tossed out in a heart beat.

Unfortunately we non agreement employees wouldn't have a job tomorrow if we went on strike. And I highly doubt your union representatives would advocate for a strike by agreement on behalf of the non agreement work force. When we start killing employees because we are stretched so thin, then maybe our almighty CEO and board members will wake up and smell the roses.

Agreement folks look at CSX if you need any examples of why you should strike. It won't be long before they do mass agreement layoffs.

As a non agreement employee I really hope this happens. THAT would get people's attention. We in the glass tower can't strike we'll be walked out immediately. We support you guys on the agreement side... For the betterment of the company please go through with this and stop this craziness in it's tracks. Working for UP feels like I'm a victim of spouse abuse anymore, cowering, waiting to get hit again.

Courage to care (about the stock price).
