Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

After today, if you don't see this company for what it is.

You need your head examined. A place that takes away 2 positions and right away replaces it with 2 other positions that probably doesn't pay as much but will expect a lot out of you? That is just dirty as you can get! Blessing in disguise for a lot that have been waiting for this moment though. Don't let your managers talk you into staying to "help". Get out now!

This is the standard and definitely not anything new. Remember when they reinvented many assistant managers titles, told them they had to reapply for their same positions? Changed up their responsibilities so they could legally do it, too. Many of those managers were mysteriously coached consecutively prior to this title change. Then, if you had multiple coachings, you couldn’t reapply for your very same position.

So what, next year it will be the three backroom people interviewing for two spots? Then the remaining two will have to interview against each other for just one spot?

Ultimately they are doing this to eliminate a bunch of full time 20yr+ associates from the clubs.

Will you still make the same or will you be starting over in the new back room position

I left Sam's Club 2 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier.

Once I witnessed the elimination of the audit team, I knew right away that Sam's Club would continue to gut itself in order to save money. Financially, it benefits the company to replace long-time associates with new workers, who will most likely not stay for very long.

Afterall, Wal-Mart is notorious for this practice.

Good luck to all those whose positions were eliminated.
