Severance package and then rehired?

I've been with Sam's over 28 years. I'm ready to go. I'm more than likely taking my severance and then unemployment for a while. Where I live there is an e commerce location I have interest in working at but the top out pay is quite a bit less. After you take severance when can you be rehired? I assume not directly is it a year or two? Thanks

Can I get severance, use the funds and then get rehired.

Do you have some solid info on this?

I say stay apply for the new position. You may loose a bit of money but not as much as you would if you left. All the insurance paid all these years. Health insurance which i might add s---s but its what we have. Severance is less then what you would make in a year. This company changes alot almost like a rubix cube. But always seems to go back to where it was. Im sure audit as well as other positions

will return in time. Yes its just a job but its our job.i walked behind some new hires today and my thought was wow these are the people taking our positions. We have pride in our work we've grown and know what needs to get done to get the job done. All i see know is a dirty club and its gonna get worse.

I'm not interested in going back to Sam's. We have an ecommerce nearby but it's a pretty big pay cut. Only looking at options.

If you been there for 28 years you should be maxed out on pay and you are willing to go back to that Hell On Earth for 12 bucks an hour. No wonder this company can keep elimanating jobs because people are willing to be screwed over by them. They elimanated the audit team and the x audit lead still goes and helps other clubs during inventory.

Why would you want to be rehired there and worse yet-start over? Take the other job and don’t look back, I did and have no regrets
