Severance paperwork?

Has anybody received their severance paperwork? I was told it would be emailed by the end of this week. It’s almost 5 o’clock on Friday and I’ve received nothing.

That doesn’t seem right since no severance has been paid yet. I filed with RRB and haven’t heard back. I’m curious now as well...

The RRB said I will be disqualifiedfor unemployment pay because I am receiving a separation allowance. How can they disqualify us when UP hasn’t paid out the severance yet?

They were not even answering multiple emails to their HR group email. Sent three no response. Every time called, got same response, send email and we will respond in 24 hours. Evidently, in the beginning, UP only had two people working in this. On 30th, still no paperwork. Called. They said they had been having problem sending to people with Cox email. Well that’s nice. Why didn’t they call To let me know? And now health and dental runs out next day on 31st. Finally, on 31st found a live person who was somewhat empathetic and could answer several questions. Sad to see the best railroad in America do what they are doing to the people who dedicated their lives and sacrificed so much to make UP great. Long hours, weekends, holidays, family life and so much more. It truly is a disgrace. Let’s see if they give up their big executive bonuses to improve profits. Bet not.

Seriously people, if you think the UP lawyers haven’t thought this through you’re fooling yourselves. Nothing about this is illegal and if you don’t sign then you’ll get nothing. But if you feel that strongly about it, go ahead and refuse to sign. Just let me know how that works out for you a year from now after all of this is forgotten.

The people being offered a severance were not furloughed, they were fired as part of a restructure and reorganization. There is nothing illegal about it. No one demographic was targeted. If they don't sign the paperwork, they don't get anything. They will still be terminated. No vacation pay out, no severance, no pension.

Just a tip to those that were let go! DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING AFTER YOUR TERMINATION! Your termination eliminates ANY obligation you have to the company! Therefore you do not have to sign anything! The severance paperwork is sugar-coated badly to get you to sign it! Upon signing it, you waive any and all rights to legal counsel if you feel your termination was unjustified! PLEASE DO NOT SIGN! There needs to be an uprising within the furloughed employees! A court petition is a very powerful tool to get the attention of certain people! Best of luck to all!

Well..... basically you are f---ed. There are reports of a non-compete clause, total B.S. Even after they fire you they continue to f--- you.

Good luck finding another job with another RR. Thanks Beth......

The termination letter is the one they showed or gave you earlier this week. If you need a copy email the workforce address

The email is incoherent, they keep referencing a termination letter but nothing is attached.
