Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

This weekend will s---

Waiting for next week, expecting more layoffs, not knowing if it's over or not... Yup, I don't foresee much resting and relaxing this weekend...

Unless we get luck and find out today that layoffs are truly over for the foreseeable future. Which, I know, has a snowball in hell chance of happening.

Folks, the cuts will never be over until that magical number of 55 is achieved! Every dept. is in the crosshairs! The investors are already rattled by the corporate decisions made this month! As far as the cuts being over for the foreseeable future, answer is no! A lot of people were viciously blindsided by this one! The only thing everyone can do is plan for it! The executive's are going to keep this trend until one of two things happen! #1 - Achieve the ratio of %55, or #2 - keep cutting until they do! Its simply just a matter of time until everything goes to hell! When that happens, there will be no way to go back! Reason being is the employee base is literally being gutted right now. There's going to be no one left, when it starts to go south! If and when another mass hiring takes place, you'll have untrained people out there trying to do the job! Velocity WILL go in the toilet, car dwell will skyrocket, CSI scores will tank, business will be lost, and operating ratio will go right back up! The UP is circling the drain people! The company has reached a point of no return! The image and reputation of the UP is damaged! Too many people have been hurt by this company! The CP, CSX, AND CN will always remember what Mr. Hunter Harison did to them! The long term future for the UP is not looking good to some investors right now! God bless to the ones affected by this company! If you're still there, then I'll pray for you!

Cuts are not done. HDC and field Operating have yet to implement their changes from the service unit consolidation. Next week supposedly.

Union Pacific needs to get its focus in order. The bottom line looks good and yet they want to improve their financials by cutting valuable human resources. It’s a business and that makes sense to a point. However, how do they expect business to operate as usual when everyone is constantly holding their breath and waiting for the ax to fall? It is a horrible business plan. People are just recovering from last year’s “reorganization” and layoffs which turned out to be a self admitted mistake. It looks like greed to me.
