Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Anyone who tested the new backroom associate that could tell how well it works and what hours they work?

@1psq they did the same to the audit team when we were testing the new audit system. Said it would make audits easier, so 2 people can do it and the lead could focus on reports and things. We were testing it for several months. Once it took effect all over, they let us go about a month later. Same as they just did to receiving. We are seeing a pattern. Once a tested program has been released, a month later it's bye bye to that position.

If they think clubs look bad now then move the nightcrew to days and watch how bad things will really look. Empty holes everywhere. 37.5 was once considered full time and if you went over that it was like going over 40 hours and you would be written up.

No one told us it is a 7 day work week.

We tested the app starting in the 3rd week of August. There was no word of elimination of jobs. All we were told was the paperwork would eventually be eliminated. We were all “thinking” the clerks job would be shrunk to part time.. but not that ALL positions would be affected. We are just as shocked and disgusted as everyone else.

The actual use of 2 FT/1 PT person covering both receiving and claims wasn't tested. Just the use of the new backroom app. Before it was rolled out company wide in regional phases during 1st week of October. Hence the new job code title "backroom associate ." As to how it works, it's a combination of the new app and some old procedures the app hasn't eliminated yet, used to complete the same work or tasks that have always been done in receiving and claims. It just won't be called those 2 things any longer.

Unless your club still gets 40 hours don’t expect it... we are at 34 hours with no sign of getting them back

Are your days split, does red prairie do the scheduling? How many hours a week are you scheduled 40 or 32 is what we was told. What time is the last schedule are you required to work on the floor some?

The positions will be 7 day scheduling so if you looking for Monday thru Friday that's gone. Also you will be doing claims in addition to receiving.

I don't think this was tested. People would've been talking about that.
