Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

More cuts despite improved profits

Did anybody else read this?

Union Pacific delivered a 33 percent improvement in its third-quarter profit, and executives discussed more details of their plan to cut costs at the railroad.

So we are improving profits ABOVE expectations, and yet more cuts are being discussed? How is that even remotely okay?

This is all to common from Union Pacific. The thing is , is they did a mass hiring this year because of employee shortage, only to lay them off! This is a constant procedure with Union Pacific. Last year they laid off or fired 500 managers only to get in a manager shortage to do what.....mass hire. Now to do what....lay off or fire. I think the brunt of the lay offs will likely come from the union employees.

Its not ok... profit over people. Companies such as this were just handed a tax cut for the 1% as well, on there very backs of the middle class. Thanks Trump and Obama!
