is created by the continuous RIF year after year, quarter after quarter. Most of the better performer wouldn't be worry about that but they did declare that the RIF was not based on your age, performance, etc... So, you can be eliminated for what ever reason legally.

Yeah, it's 40 now. Whippersnappers in their 20s and 30s should plan accordingly.
And this is why I didn't wait around for a package and just got out. No regrets.
If you're over 45 (40?) And you make decent comp, you are a target. Performance doesn't matter. Total comp paid/payable does.
