Heard from two managers today that the axe falls next week

Heard more than that 10%. Every contractor in the ops department I am in will be gone after Dec 21. They were not supposed to tell us until the day of...I guess so we would have a merry Christmas. Luckily I was given the heads up a couple of months ago so I could get into the job market.
Layoffs coming Monday... my VP in CX said initial numbers were about 5% but they came back and asked for more. Final numbers for our team are about 10% cut.
Cisco hasn't been a career since 2008. High-performers are eliminated, while the politicians are awarded large amounts of stock. Expensing travel, dinners, and hotels is the norm if you are well connected.
Cisco will layoff people anytime if it suits them.
I heard the same from my manager this past week as well. I think there's truth to this post.
You are correct. My manager knows and is impacted. I love how our fearless leaders cannot run a business. Cisco is a job now and no longer is it a career. A colleague of mine mentioned to me, " Have you ever known anyone to retire from Cisco ? " . Nope. Why ? Chambers ran Cisco horribly now his cohort is doing the same. I understand they are running the company by the numbers but our gear is s---ing bad due to bugs beyond being reasonable. If they want profits up then bring dev back to the US and start making our platforms stable. Customers would love that and pay top dollar. Instead Ciscos model is drop your shorts to get sales.
What an ironic post. If there’s one constant thing at Cisco, it is change... !
I've never heard of Cisco conducting a significant layoff in November.
