Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Service Units Managers

“These cuts to our general and administrative structure typically do not affect those on the ground,” said Kristen South, Union Pacific public relations representative. “Usually, these are not the people moving or working on the trains.”

As a result of the restructuring, Union Pacific will consolidate operations from three regions to two, and eliminate five service units, including Denver.

South said this change would likely only affect managers.

“They may be absorbed into larger territories or let go, depending on our needs

I'm sorry, but no one gives a sh-- about what is said on social media as it pertains to the board or Sr leadership. Don't think for a second they're watching this or Facebook to see what you or any of us have to say. They are getting paid and making decisions, no matter the short term.or long term.impact, they will be fine and can always move to another company on their parachuteade of gold.

It's going to blow up! People need to keep up the social media slaughtering of the UP! Some one important will eventually hear about it! I seriously hope Fritz gets exactly what was given to the people he screwed! He did this company no good by mirroring a failed plan by the late E. Hunter Harrison! I absolutely don't give a damn about how fast or slow you implement it! I was there when the CP did it! Trust me, death is death! It's either quick and painless, or slow and painful! People simply haven't seen the worst of the plan yet! It's only been a few weeks! Sit back and watch the sh-- fly!

Since Aug. 625 locomotives out of the active fleet and with a "line of sight" for another 150 by end of year; car operating inventory down 6,000 cars with plans to cut that by another 10,000. "Usually" this does effect people moving or working on those trains, not necessarily managers. Both sides of the mouth are capable of speech. General and administrative structure is but, one part of the larger goal being discussed. Executives on the company's third quarter earnings call moved to dispel any doubt that they are "all in" on switching the company's operations to precision railroading principles, attempting to push back against what one executive on the call said were rumblings in the industry that they are doing "precision railroading light." It is good to watch the right hand, don't be mislead that the left hand of the magician isn't busy at work too. It is all there to be viewed Don't overly focus on what expected you would because you wanted to believe in the trick, or you condemn yourself to ignoring what else there was to be known.

Hopefully everyone who read that didn't overlook the usually! Most times I would tell people not to read into something too much, but that statement is completely smothered in BS! The operative word being usually, or in their eyes meaning anyone they damn well please! Think about it!
