Thread regarding Sears layoffs

To those posting negative comments:

I don't believe any of this. My manager would never lie to us. He said we would all get severance and unemployment, but that it doesnt matter because we aren't really closing anyway. He said no one in the company would lie because that is unethical and illegal. I confirmed all this by visiting Sears Facebook and I hear them saying on there that there was millions of people giving love to sears so that means it will never die. And Eddie would never steal.

Anyone know what the severance packages were at recent store closings?

Anyone at the "home office" needs to be concerned. If you close 1/3 of the stores and don't cut back 1/3 at the home office, you didn't accomplish anything.

I hate to say this, but I just don't see how any Sears or Kmart can survive.

I would like to think that OP was just being sarcastic, but I don't think so...too angry, too desperate, too manic. No, we are seeing the underbelly of Sears, and it's a dark, dank, filthy place.

Thanks for the laugh. I saw my former manager posting that Sears love thing on her Facebook page but I didn't know it was company wide. The only likes she got were from others Sears managers.

The Sears store that I used to work at was a 35 million dollar store at one time during its peak years.

It now makes perhaps a third of that and is in liquidation now.

A number of us there got out earlier this year.

My eyes have really been opened up in the last couple of years...it is hard to fathom how many people can staunchly believe LIARS. Are people really that stupid? Unfortunately, it seems that they are. The truth can be right in front of them, they prefer lies. No wonder this country is on the verge of collapse. People, like cheerleader, believe whatever they are told.

It's weird to me that people working there seem to be true believers. I recommended one of my friends for a Senior IT position at the company I work for. His reaction pretty much demonstrated that he believes that the bankruptcy is just a maneuver to get rid of leases, and he plans to stick around.

I am absolutely flabbergasted that more people aren’t running toward the doors like the whole place is on fire. I just don't understand if they are being willfully ignorant, or want to be there when the place implodes. It's not like they will benefit in any way (like getting severance) if their jobs suddenly end. I just don't understand.
